Welcome to Walk ‘n Talk Budapest, an uplifting hiking event created by WHISPER to cultivate genuine & meaningful social connections on the move!

✅ INTRODUCTION:

The hike is guided by a professional hiking tour guide, assisted by the WHISPER team.

We will visit one of the most beautiful viewpoints looking over the Danube bend. The hike will be a medium difficulty, about 8 km long, with 400 m elevation.

1️⃣ First we will explore the Calvary hill in Zebegény, which has an amazing panorama at the top from Kós Károly Lookout Tower.

2️⃣ We then continue our way up with the most challenging part of our trip on a scenic, steep path till we reach the peak, Hegyes-tető. There, from Julianus Lookout Tower we will have a breathtaking panorama, which is dominated by the view of the Danube at 270 degrees.

3️⃣ We further start to go down to Nagymaros train station. On the way, we will see nice meadows, diverse nature, and of course the panorama from different angles over the Danube and Nagymaros.

4️⃣ If there’s enough time before the train back to Budapest starts, we can have a rest on the Danube riverside.

5️⃣ There is one train every hour back to Budapest, we will catch the one at either 15:09 or 16:09 and finish our tour at Budapest Nyugati station.

Felicia has been hiking since she knew how to walk. Thanks to her mom, she was raised close to nature, and for her relaxing means going into the woods. She often organizes hiking tours herself. Being a tour guide allows her to share her passion and love for nature. She is an open-minded and easy-going person but introverted at the same time. Just like everybody else at WHISPER community, she also enjoys meaningful conversations.

✅ MEETING POINT, TIME & LOGISTICS:

☑️ Meeting time: April 29th, 8:20 at Nyugati railway station in Budapest. 

☑️ We'll buy the train ticket together from Nyugati station to Zebegény station (destination), starting at 9:08

☑️ Meeting point: the platform between rails 11 and 12 at the huge orange color WHISPER flag. 

☑️ Destination Train Station: Zebegény

☑️ Arrival back to Budapest: 15:54 or 16:54 at Nyugati train station

✅ EQUIPMENT:

We advise you to bring the following gear:

☑️ comfortable hiking shoes, which secure your feet properly

☑️ layered clothing according to the weather

☑️ water (bring 1,5-2 times more than for a normal weekday)

☑️ enough food for the whole day 

☑️ open mind 😊 and good mood!

✅ TICKETS:

☑️ 10,000 HUF / person. This includes 2500 HUF two-way train tickets

☑️ Paid in CASH ONLY to the WHISPER team on the spot

☑️ We will buy the train tickets for the whole group together to avoid chaos. 

☑️ Bring your ID and Student Card, because there might be discounts on train tickets if you are a student or under age 26.  

☑️ The event is only valid if at least 20 persons confirm their participation by phone one week ahead of the event. We will call you.

☑️ The event will be rescheduled in case of bad weather. Please always double-check the event status before you come.

☑️ Registration is required.
